Bungie's Sci-Fi RPG Destiny 2 Is Coming to Mobile

Bungie and NetEase revealed Destiny: Rising, a mobile version of the beloved sci-fi RPG shooter.

The game is set in the familiar Destiny Universe and features many new playable characters, each with unique abilities and backgrounds, a shared world, and a variety of game modes. The new story is set in an alternate timeline, in the post-Dark Age era.

Destiny: Rising offers dynamic gameplay with single, co-op, and competitive multiplayer modes. It features beloved game modes from the Destiny franchise as well as brand-new ones. Players can choose from the first-person or a new fully third-person view.

The new title was developed and published by NetEase and officially licensed by Bungie, the originator of the sci-fi franchise. Ethan Wang, Senior Vice President at NetEase, said that the company was honored to collaborate with Bungie to "deliver a Destiny-caliber experience to mobile devices." He continued: "Destiny is an incredible franchise with a passionate and dedicated global fanbase. As huge fans ourselves, we are humbled and thrilled for the opportunity to bring gamers an action-packed RPG shooter set within the Destiny Universe."

Terry Redfield, Creative Lead at Bungie, shared that they were excited to see mobile gamers be able to experience the new take on the Destiny universe from the creative team at NetEase.

The creators invite players to register for a limited-access closed alpha test scheduled for November.
