Call of Duty, God of War, and Pokémon Are the Most-Desired Chrismas Presents This Year

Christmas is already near which means that it is time to prepare gifts for your beloved ones. For video game fans giving games as Christmas presents can be an obvious choice – and a new study shows that most gamers indeed are expecting to receive games this year.

Analytics firm Newzoo has prepared an interesting survey that shows how many PC or console players in the US requested games for Christmas as well as which titles are among the most-desired gifts.

According to the results of the survey, 70% of gamers either already asked their friends or family for video games or planned to do so. In addition, 58% of respondents shared that they would be giving video games as Christmas presents this year.

Some of those who decided to gift video games noted that they are buying them for their friends (39%), children (34%), partners (28%), or parents (18%). However, the majority of respondents (65%) shared that they're giving games as Christmas gifts for themselves.

Among the most popular choices for Christmas gifts are such recently-released titles as God of War Ragnarök (8%), Pokémon Scarlet & Violet (7%), FIFA 23 (6%), and NBA 2K23 (5%). But there is one title that is far ahead of all those games – this is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II which will be given as a present by 20% of respondents.
