At least it's there.
Activision
Call of Duty, as you might expect, is not meant for kids, but some children don't care about this little fact and continue absorbing all the killing and violence the game offers. But no more! Activision added age verification, so kids shall not pass!
Well, if they are extremely honest kids, that is. The system is the same as on any other site: choose whatever date you want, so of course, it won't help CoD become an adult-only game.
"In accordance with our efforts to deliver a positive community experience as detailed in the Call of Duty Code of Conduct, Activision players are being asked to provide updated information to their accounts," Activision said (via Dexerto).
If you, for some reason, put an age that's below the required, the game will ask for parental consent to be provided within a certain timeframe, otherwise, your account will be deleted.
I honestly think Activision doesn't care who plays their games as long as they continue, but this flimsy measure will surely appease some organizations.
So expect to see the majority of gamers born on January 1 sometime in the 20th century.
