In a recent interview with the Polish outlet Parkiet, CD Projekt Red's former President and CEO Adam Kiciński shared that the studio has no intention of being acquired to date.
"We are not interested in integrating ourselves into any larger entity. Throughout our entire lives, we have worked towards the position we currently hold. We believe that in a few years, we will be even bigger and stronger," said Kiciński (via IGN).
CDPR is one of the most well-known and renowned game developers who gave the world The Witcher franchise and Cyberpunk 2077. With Kiciński clearly stating the company's position, all the rumors connected to the studio being a target of acquisition become irrelevant.
Adding to that, Kiciński mentioned that CDPR has no interest in acquiring another studio solely to consolidate its financial results. As of October 2021, the studio has already acquired Molasses Flood, known for developing The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow. As for now, the latter is working on a game set in the Witcher universe, codenamed Sirius.
Speaking of Kiciński, starting January 1, 2024, he left the role of CEO, moving on to the position of Chief Strategy Officer.
