CDPR Disabled All Mods in Phantom Liberty

The developer informed Steam and Epic players that the decision was made to prevent any potential technical complications arising from the mods.

After the long-awaited launch of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, players all over the world have a chance to experience the singular and exclusive story expansion, where they can explore a newly added, crime-infested location known as Dogtown. As well as dive into a separate story campaign where V and Johnny Silverhand find themselves forming an unlikely alliance with FIA agent Solomon Reed in order to investigate a catastrophic orbital shuttle crash that has occurred in Night City's most dangerous district.

Unfortunately, the exciting adventure that many players had anticipated took an unexpected turn. CD Projekt Red recently announced that users, Steam and Epic gamers, in particular, would not have the ability to utilize mods as they have been disabled.

"Attention all Steam and Epic players! We wanted to let you know that mods will be automatically disabled for the launch of Phantom Liberty. This is to prevent issues with the game that are caused by mods before they receive their update from the modding community. We want to make sure you have the best experience when playing the game," wrote CDPR.

As CDPR stated on Twitter, this decision is made in order to avoid any potential technical complications arising from the mods that have yet to be updated to accommodate both the Phantom Liberty expansion and the earlier Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update patch. Of course, there were a few complaints regarding the unavailability of certain mods, but players mostly understood that it was all for the best and eagerly awaited the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Night City.

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, CD Projekt Red has recently released a free comic book titled "Ten of Swords," shedding light on the events depicted in the latest DLC trailer. For further insights and detailed information, you can refer to our article.
