The money was spent on bug fixes, the 2.0 update, and the Phantom Liberty expansion.
At CD Projekt Red's recent Investor Day presentation, which primarily centered on the recently released Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR unveiled that it had spent more than $120 million on Cyberpunk 2077 since its release back in 2020.
As stated by the developer, it has spent around 550 million PLN (approximately $125 million) to create new content, improve the state of Cyberpunk 2077, and fix the issues that plagued the early versions of the game. Roughly $40 million was spent on bug fixes, next-gen console compatibility, and the 2.0 update, which brought a slew of new features and improvements, including skill trees with new perks, redesigned cyberware, new weapons and vehicles, revamped police, and more.
Additionally, a further $84.3 million was invested in the development of the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. The expansion's development costs were estimated at approximately $62.7 million, with an additional $21.6 million allocated to marketing efforts, as disclosed by the development team.

During the presentation, CD Projekt also revealed Cyberpunk 2077, announcing that the game has surpassed 25 million units sold. According to the company's President and CEO, Adam Kiciński, Cyberpunk 2077 achieved this milestone in approximately two years and ten months.
Speaking of Kiciński, it was also disclosed at the Investor Day that Adam will depart from his current CEO position on January 1, 2024, and will move on to the new role of Chief Strategy Officer until 2025. In his new role, Kicinski will oversee the operations of CD Projekt Red and provide recommendations and resolutions within the broader CD Projekt Capital Group.

Furthermore, CD Projekt Red recently announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will soon get a live-action adaptation, created in collaboration with True Detective and Mr. Robot producer and the studio behind The Revenant and Spotlight Anonymous Content.
As part of this joint venture, CDPR is working closely with important figures from Anonymous Content Studios, such as Garret Kemble, Head of Television, Ryan Schwartz, Director of Development, and David Levine, Chief Creative Officer. The project is currently in its early stages of development and actively searching for a screenwriter.
