In 2022, CD Projekt Red announced The Witcher 4, codenamed Polaris, which will be built on Unreal Engine. As time goes by, we're getting more and more information on the upcoming game.

In a recent discussion with Reuters, the company's new Co-CEO Adam Badowski shared that Polaris will enter the production phase this year, and approximately 400 developers will be working on the project.

"We'd like to have around 400 people working on the project by the middle of the year," Badowski shared.

In November 2023, we reported that more than 300 developers, which is almost half of CDPR's workforce, were working on the project. While we shouldn't expect the game to come out in the next couple of years, it's still exciting to see how the project grows and that more and more people are getting involved in it.

During the interview, Badowski also mentioned that they don't plan to replace people with AI. "We think that AI is something that can help improve certain processes in game production, but not replace people."

At the beginning of 2024, Badowski, CDPR's former Creative Director, and Michal Nowakowski, CDPR's Commercial Director, took on new roles at the company as Co-CEOs, while Adam Kiciński moved to the position of Chief Strategy Officer.
