According to Patrick Mills, all these speculations are nonsense.
In Walter Isaacson's recent biography on the world's wealthiest person, it was unveiled that Musk made a rather unconventional visit to CD Projekt's office, showing up with a 200-year-old gun. Seeing the team's employees, Musk allegedly began waving a weapon in front of them, demanding a cameo in Cyberpunk 2077. However, there's no information if they actually did make him a part of the game.
Later on, a tweet claiming that Elon Musk's cameo was removed from the Corpo opening in Cyberpunk 2077 went viral.
However, all these speculations about Musk being a part of Cyberpunk 2077's universe were shut down since Patrick K. Mills, a Senior Quest Designer, has decided to step in and clear things up. He wrote: "That wasn't Elon Musk, it looks nothing like him", as well as addressed all these assumptions as "nonsense".
Also, Mills spoke up on the alleged visit to the studio with a weapon. He clarified that he was not present and therefore, couldn't confirm the details. However, he emphasized that the NPC in question was certainly not meant to represent Musk, adding, "even if that's true, that doesn't mean this random Japanese guy is supposed to be him."
