The free and open-source visualization plug-in Cesium is now also available for Unity. It combines the 3D geospatial streaming capability of Cesium, 3D Tiles, and the foundations of Cesium Native with the Unity ecosystem. The tool provides a full-scale WGS84 globe to allow you to create "rich, immersive global apps, simulations, and experiences using 3D Tiles."
The plug-in is integrated with Unity's Game Objects, Components, Character Controllers, and more, enabling you to explore the world with a free camera or build controllable assets with physics and collisions that interact with the world.
It also offers an optional subscription to Cesium ion for quick access to curated 3D content including terrain, imagery, 3D cities, and photogrammetry.
Cesium for Unity is now in preview and available on Windows, macOS, Android, and VR platforms. The non-commercial use is free, while the commercial licenses start at $149/month.
