The game is set to launch in just a few days.
If you are a fan of Japanese horror folklore but visiting an authentic haunted village hidden in Honshu's wilderness is outside your realm of possibilities, here's a cool upcoming game from Solo Game Developer HAZECODE that might pique your interest.
Check out "Disappearance – Takeshi. You were right. That Abandoned Village is Too Bad", a Unity-powered first-person horror-comedy game that enables you to explore the eerie streets and abandoned houses of a blood-curdling Japanese village with the goal being as easy and short as the game's title – to find a missing friend.

After ignoring your reasonable advice not to go there, your best friend Hikaru heads for the cursed Matsuzawa Village, only to go missing there. Playing as Takeshi, your goal is to find your wayward pal, experiencing bizarre events and facing an unruly urban legend along the way.

Described as an "action-adventure" by the developer, the game plays from the first-person perspective, allowing you to truly experience the thrill and horror of exploring Matsuzawa Village. According to the creator, Disappearance is a rather short game, offering around 30 minutes worth of gameplay, and will only be available in Japanese.
