The full version of Trench Foot will be dropped soon.
TrenchWork, a group of developers on the Trench Foot project, which is an ambitious GZDoom total conversion inspired by Warhammer 40K, has shared a new clip to showcase the gameplay:
"Step into the boots of Master Templar, the fanatical and ruthless enforcer of the one true faith. Survive the evil unleashed by heresy and struggle with over 15 (and counting) new enemy types, from corrupted militia and cultists to demonic netherworld horrors. Utilise 14 holy instruments of war to excommunicate with extreme prejudice," reads the mod's description.
Besides the gameplay footage in the beginning, the team recently showcased two new animated soundscapes, "AGONY" and "March of the Wretched," created by L0KKEN. Later, more of the breathtaking soundscapes and some bonus content will be released on their personal YouTube channel, Pocket Dystopia.
The development of this Doom II mod started around 2020, and back in 2022, CountryCide, the first of many "FootNotes," a survival horror prequel adventure to Trench Foot, was released. In December of last year, CountryCide: Horde Mode and CountryCide: Mod-Friendly Edition were launched. The latter is like a Doom map, allowing players to mix any mods with it.
There is an alpha version on ModDB if you'd like to give it a try. Meanwhile, the development is almost wrapping up, as shared by the team, who hopes to ship the project soon.
