Praxinos, in collaboration with the Epic Games team, has officially released Odyssey, a brand-new 2D animation plug-in for Unreal Engine 5.6+ that allows its users to draw, animate, and storyboard frame by frame right inside the Unreal Editor.
Built for 2D animators looking to leverage UE5's capabilities, Odyssey introduces comprehensive toolsets for creating animations using Flipbook or Odyssey Animation assets, painting textures, and sketching storyboards.
The plug-in supports both 2D and 3D viewports, allowing users to zoom, pan, and rotate the canvas. Its animation editor includes features like onion skinning, shift-and-trace, staggered cells, flip-through shortcuts, automatic inbetweens, and more. Odyssey also supports graphic tablets and provides a wide range of brushes and tools for both bitmap and vector layers.
