A great work by miks_00.
Game Developer known as miks_00 unveiled this eye-catching setup with the experiment on visualizing sci-fi forcefield impact effects, showing the vibrant cinematic animation created using Unity.
According to the artist, the forcefield effect is rendered as a separate mesh, so it doesn't require changing the original material of the object. As for the impact effects, they are handled with CommandBuffers and DrawMeshInstanced, so there is no limit on impact count. The entire effect is rendered in a maximum of two draw calls, which are the main force field and hits. The animation is available in the Unity asset store.
