Check Out This Fairytale Umbrella with Realistically Swimming Goldfish
The artist explained how they kept the animation seamless at UV edges.
3D Artist known as Ciffon/NoctLab showcased this eye-catching umbrella with swimming goldfish, looking like a magical artifact from Hayao Miyazaki's films. The setup stands out for its creative concept, vibrant colors, realistic raindrops, and impressive technical execution.
The artist revealed that the goldfish animation has been improved to move more naturally, resembling a swimming fish while remaining seamless even at UV edges. According to the creator, instead of using a GIF, the swimming effect is achieved by directly wiggling the UV coordinates. To keep the animation seamless, a circular UV map of the umbrella was set up in UV Mode in Main Color 2nd.
