Released back in March 2023, this action-horror game has received "overwhelmingly positive" reviews on Steam, with players writing that "this game is wild on acid", "I've only played a little over 2 hours and this is already my favorite roguelike ever, next to Hades", etc.

Mortal Sin, created by indie developer Nikola Todorovic, is an immersive action-horror roguelike that thrusts you into an unending nightmare. Armed with your hacking and slashing skills, you must navigate through relentless challenges and face death itself, knowing that it is merely the gateway to further struggles.

The game immerses you into an unforgiving world where a single mistake can send you back to the beginning. The game is filled with challenges that can deplete your health, damage your weapons, and unleash hordes of mini-bosses. However, there are ways to gain an advantage over your enemies. The game offers a roguelite progression system, allowing you to unlock permanent abilities, purchase potions, and craft new gear in the main hub between dungeons. As you progress, early-level dungeons become easier, providing a satisfying sense of power. However, this power can quickly disappear in the Trial of Resolve, a challenging room where you can be defeated in just sixteen seconds.

In addition to the upgrade system, Mortal Sin features a robust combat system. Players can parry enemies, leading to powerful combo attacks. Combining different attack moves like kicking, bashing, and chopping can increase damage and speed. Does it sound good?
