Check Out This Hand-Painted Watercolor Game Inspired by Classic Fairytale

Take a look at Gretel & Hansel, an unusual adventure developed by Spider House, featuring captivating visuals crafted entirely by hand with watercolor.

Based on a German fairy tale about a little brother and sister, the game itself looks like a storybook with live illustrations. The upcoming game is a reimagination of 2009 and 2010's Gretel & Hansel Part 1 and Part 2, featuring hand-painted visuals and expanded gameplay.

In this adventure, you play as Gretel, trying to save her brother and escape a deep forest, using every trick you know to survive the journey home, coming across shifty puzzles, terrifying creatures, and an evil witch.

The game combines a haunting story with a highly interactive world, where you can pet animals, attend a party, dance, discover items, annoy your brother, face your evil twin, and more. 

The scary fairytale features over 50 costumes, with some granting special powers, more than 20 slingshots, shooting fire, ice, fireworks, and more, over 100 fairy tokens, and more.

The release date has not been revealed yet, but the developers recently shared a playable demo, which you can try on Steam.
