Sebastien Rousseau revisits the procedural tool created for Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Senior Technical Artist Sebastien Rousseau unveiled this Houdini tool for creating realistic ivy.

The artist shared that a few years ago, he developed the first iteration of the scattering tool for Assassin's Creed Shadows production, and it evolved into a more complex 3D vine growth system, crafted directly within the game editor using the Houdini Engine.

Now, Sebastien Rousseau revisits the initial version and refactors it to make it more accessible and faster to set up. Have a closer look at the tool created for the game, with the props created by Technical Artist Yujin Seol:
