Check Out This New Efficient UV Unwrapping Tool For 3ds Max

UVReactor is a high-performance UV editor for 3ds Max that doesn't require a modifier, making it ideal for on-the-fly UV creation and monitoring while modeling.

After years of development, RapidMXS, known as the creator of RapidTools and Octopus, has finally launched UVReactor, a new tool that helps you create and fix UV maps on your models.

Aiming to surpass the old Unwrap UVW, RapidMXS hopes UVReactor will become one of the best UV editors for 3ds Max. If you're tired of waiting and switching between different apps, give UVReactor a try, as it works right inside the software.

UVReactor

The viewport of UVReactor is a hardware-accelerated OpenGL-based system, providing a lightning-fast UI with a sophisticated accelerator structure. This makes the tool extremely efficient and responsive, even if you have to work with millions of polygons, and "one of the fastest solutions on the market". Thanks to this, the system gives you a real-time update in the 3ds Max viewport.

While UVReactor is still under heavy development, it already has tools for unwrapping, packing UVs, and setting texel density. You can use your favorite 3ds Max tools and follow familiar workflows with no problem.

Since UVReactor currently only supports Editable Poly objects, there's no need for modifiers, you can edit the UV while you are modeling, speeding up the entire modeling process. It also includes a complex built-in UV cleanup algorithm, resolving common UV artifacts, and the option to stitch multiple UV shells simultaneously.

UVReactor

RapidMXS offers two different licenses for UVReactor. Both are perpetual licenses, meaning you can use them indefinitely after buying the software, there is no expiration date.

The indie license is designed for individuals and is currently available at €100. The license for big studios can be purchased at €200.
