Check Out This Retro-Style Pixelated Indie Game Made of Symbols

There's an entire world created of digits and letters.

Solo Game Developer Andrey Fomin has been creating a game with distinct and unusual visuals – everything is made of luminous digits and letters.

The game's graphics are created in a retro style reminiscent of old-school titles. The characters, the environment, and the interface elements are created of neon numbers and letters, which have a mild glow. They are not static – when the characters or their surroundings move, the symbols shift and transform into others, creating an interesting visual effect.

Andrey Fomin shared that all of the symbols are the same size and don't rotate. However, the screen can have multiple layers with a fixed grid that can shift smoothly across the display.

The developer even added lighting to the pixelated world, turning it from a flat digital space into an expanded world with voluminous locations:

The game's world is indeed extensive, as the creator put them together into an entire planet:

The upcoming game has interesting elements, for instance, sea waves are formed from text lines reading "sea waves":

The game's title remains unknown, as its Steam page is being approved. Andrey Fomin's other project, Coin-Op Vice, is a 2.5D top-down action with deck-building that contains more than 100 short arcade mini-games with different features. This game is also created in the retro style, with its pixelated graphics and bright-colored symbols on the black background:
