Tiny Voxels is a fun voxel sandbox game made by Technical Artist and Game Developer Matej Vanco, where you can roam around the hills and freely build, deform, and destroy various structures.
There is no specific goal – you're free to wander around the map and experiment with the sandbox control panel, allowing you to adjust voxel details, brush intensity and size. You can switch between night and day, launch rockets, or instantly print a house.

"The world is 128x128x128 units in voxel blocks, supporting three Point Lights, a Directional Light, Soft Shadows, day/night mode, and four unique materials with common properties such as shading, specular highlights, two slope textures, shadow ambiance, and softness."

The developer calls Tiny Voxel a tech demo showcasing the abilities of Unity's Raymarcher renderer. It's important to note that Raymarcher is not a voxel engine, however, all content and features in this game demo were created entirely with Raymarcher's toolkit library. Whether Tiny Voxel stays as a demo or will be developed into a full game, it's still quite entertaining as it is.
Raymarcher is a cross-platform renderer that features a complete framework for manipulating signed distance functions and volumetric data. It's a package of a rendering technique called raymarching for Unity 2019, 2020, and 2021 being developed by Matej Vanco as well. Raymarcher is described as huge and modular, offering user-friendly tools to "create unique scenes full of fractals and organic objects in just a few seconds".
Its key features include:
- Simple, one-click setup
- Flat, toon & outline rendering
- Advanced lighting & shading
- Physically based reflections
- Object Morpher
- Multi-colored material
- Directional Light support
- Boolean operations (subtraction, intersection)
- Collection of well-known 3D fractal formulas
- VR support + Oculus Quest
- Mobile support
- WebGL support
The next major version including support for Unity's HDRP and URP is scheduled to be released this year. If you wish to learn more about Raymarcher and keep tabs on its future updates, check out the official website.
For those who are interested in making their own voxel games, we suggest checking out Justin Arnold's RPG in a Box, a voxel-based game engine. It's designed with a fun, beginner-friendly approach so as to not require any programming or modeling knowledge while providing enough customization:
