Check Out This Unsettling Co-Op Dungeon Crawler From WizMUD Devs

The developers of WizMUD, an online chat and event space where you play as a wizard in an 'abandoned' early 2000s MMORPG world, have showcased clips of their new project, a Unity-based creepy stylized multiplayer dungeon crawler.

WizMUD is an online virtual game platform, mimicking the style of the early 2000s MMORPGs and posing as an 'abandoned online game', that became viral on TikTok a while ago.

Essentially, it's an event space akin to VRChat where people roleplay and interact with each other in unique ways via emotes, spells, potions, etc. WizMUD allows you to watch YouTube with your friends or admire beautiful fan art in the museum just in your browser.

Recently, the developers of WizMUD have started teasing clips of their new game, an untitled multiplayer low-poly dungeon crawler, a project vaguely resembling Old School RuneScape at first glance this time.

It's very stylish, extremely unnerving, and full of giant rats:

While there's very little information on the game, besides being armed with a torch and a gun and eliminating rat kings with your pals in a stop-motion animation style, the developers shared that the dungeon system employs The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's modular 'bricks' approach to level design, which might be an interesting read for game designers working on similar projects:

The developers also often share WIPs on the WizMUD X/Twitter account and reply to players' questions and suggestions. We highly encourage you to follow the account to stay updated on the game's progress and not miss any further announcements or a chance to wishlist in on Steam.
