The revenues generated by the mobile game market in the country make up 76% of the total gaming revenue.
Chinese mobile games industry showed steady growth in the first quarter of 2022, according to Xinhua which cites the data from a research agency CNG. The report reveals that the mobile games market in the country has surpassed RMB 60.43 billion (around $9.13 billion) which reflects a year-on-year increase of 2.72% and a 9.28% growth compared to Q4 2021.
This growth was reached even despite the removal of Roblox’s LuoBuLesi app from the Chinese market in the first quarter. The results were also mainly achieved by the great performance of Netease and Tencent during 2021.
Meanwhile, the total revenue generated by the Chinese game market reached over RMB 79.47 billion (about $11.8 billion), which is 3.17% higher than the previous year's results and 10.08% higher compared to the previous quarter. According to the figures, the revenues generated by the Chinese mobile games market make up the major part of the country's game market total revenue.
The report also notes that despite the overall growth, games developed in China, however, saw a slight decrease generating revenues of around $4.55 billion, down 0.54% from Q4 2021.
