Cities: Skylines II Announced, Coming Later This Year
The game promises to be "the most open-ended city-building sandbox on the planet" and will be available for PC and current-gen consoles sometime in 2023.
As part of Paradox Announcement Show 2023, publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Colossal Order have announced Cities: Skylines II, the sequel to 2015's Cities: Skylines.
According to Paradox, it will be a "revolutionary" spin on the original title and offer "the most realistic city simulation ever created." The game is set to provide players with the tools that will allow them to "build any kind of city they can imagine" and witness its development from a small village to a thriving city.
The publisher refers to Cities: Skylines II as "the most open-ended city-building sandbox on the planet" that will offer a "deep and immersive simulation" open to both newcomers and experienced players. Additionally, the game promises to provide players with "a wealth of construction and customization options" as well as "advanced modding capabilities."
Cities: Skylines II will launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 later this year. The game's Steam page is already live now, although it currently lacks any information on pricing or exact release dates.
The original Cities: Skylines was initially released on Windows and Mac in 2015 and was later made available on various platforms such as PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia. The city-building game was further enhanced with numerous DLC expansions, including Cities: Skylines After Dark, Cities: Skylines Snowfall, a natural disasters DLC, and others. Recently, the original game was remastered for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.
