CMA Will Reportedly Decide on Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Deal Next Week

The ordeal could soon be over.

Microsoft has been fighting regulators from around the world over its Activision Blizzard acquisition for almost two years now. It managed to win the FTC battle, but the UK's CMA blocked the deal in April.

To appeal to the organization, Microsoft decided to sell cloud streaming rights for current and new Activision Blizzard games to Ubisoft. This could make the CMA change its mind and let the corporation finally buy Activision, and we will soon find out if this scheme works.

According to The Verge's sources, the CMA will share its preliminary decision on the matter next week. The final outcome will be revealed by October 18 and could seal the deal unless the CMA finds another reason to file an appeal.

The Microsoft vs. FTC trial uncovered a range of confidential documents and Xbox plans, and new files are still coming, allegedly leaked by Microsoft itself. Thus, we've seen updates to Xbox Series X, the next-gen Xbox, plans for Oblivion and Fallout 3 Remasters, new Doom, and Dishonored 3, as well as The Elder Scrolls VI details.
