CoD vs. Battlefield: Activision Confident Despite The Hype

Activision thinks Call of Duty is too big to fail.

A new report states that Activision is keeping a close eye on the growing excitement around Battlefield 6, but remains confident that Call of Duty will continue to dominate, regardless of the competition. Sources, as reported by journalist Tom Henderson, describe Call of Duty as "too big to fail" and indicate that the franchise has new entries planned at least four years in advance.

Activision, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

The upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, scheduled for release in 2025, is described as a "strong" project despite early development challenges. It will be set in a futuristic world, similar to that of Battlefield 6, so the two games might face direct competition.

Moreover, Battlefield 6 will also have a free-to-play battle royale mode, obviously a rival to Warzone, which has seen a decline in player numbers. Black Ops 7 is set to be revealed on August 19 during Opening Night Live, where its release date will be confirmed. As for Battlefield 6, it is set to launch on October 10.

EA, Battlefield 6

ARC Raiders, a third competitor from former DICE developers, releases on October 30, and it appears players are positive about the game too, so who will win?

You can find the original report here. In the meantime, Battlefield 2042 is getting review-bombed on Steam – players are furious over being forced to mess with BIOS just to play.
