After a week filled with eager anticipation, the dawn of a new era in Counter-Strike has finally arrived.
Counter-Strike 2 has finally made its long-awaited debut after a week of anticipation, extensive testing, and years of consistently being the most popular game on Steam.
Speaking of the launch of the game, Valve, the developer behind Counter-Strike 2, made its announcement yesterday on Twitter where they released a launch trailer.
The game was released as a complimentary update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which was already accessible free of charge. So, if you're interested in joining in on the action, simply head over to Steam.

- Enabled Competitive matchmaking
- Enabled Wingman matchmaking
- Enabled Private matchmaking
Player Experience Enhancements
- Added Training Day, a brief introductory experience for new players
- Improved player-against-player movement collision
- Improved consistency of bullet penetration
Visual and Audio Improvements
- Player reflections in water are now obscured by smoke
- Molotov fire now hovers above water
- Fixed character ambient occlusion from being visible through walls
- C4 bomb lights no longer reflect through walls
- Fixed rare cases of viewmodel lighting corruption
- Adjusted smoke behavior to cover cases where smoke would stop below a player's height above the ground
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed various bugs with switching teams in the middle of offline Deathmatch
- Fixed issue with Famas reloading too early
- Chickens can now fall off Vertigo
