Cozy Italian Alley Inspired by Vicolo Della Pace, Created in 3D
You'll want to visit Alex K. Arabi's Alley of Peace.
Vicolo della Pace, or Alley of Peace, can be found in several places in Italy, and artist Alex K. Arabi was inspired by the one in Sanremo when creating his 3D environment.
The homely sunlit street is full of life emanating from little details: cloth on the rope, chalk drawings, forgotten ball. Together, they complete Arabi's "interpretation of the location in the 1890s with a nostalgic feeling around the children who live there."
"The biggest challenge to me was the lighting to bring out the most out of this scene, trying to find a balance in the contrast of the dark and the bright spaces."
The artist's work on vertex painting, RGB masks, trim sheets, and shaders paid off in the cozy scene, made with Unreal Engine, Blender, Substance 3D Painter, Substance 3D Designer, ZBrush, and SpeedTree.
