The tool can already be tried in private beta.
If you were looking for a way to retopologize your projects on the go, this upcoming tool might be exactly what you needed. A team of developers is working on CozyBlanket, a tool that promises to make the retopology process on an iPad much more simple and fun. One of the developers, 3D Artist Pablo Dobarro, had announced the upcoming tool back in early January and now regularly posts development notes via Twitter. According to Pablo's tweets, the team is working hard on making CozyBlanket as convenient as possible, constantly adding new features and improving the existing ones.
CozyBlanket has a separate CPU viewport capable of working with millions of polygons on an iPad. According to the team, it can be used to work with unprocessed photoscans or ZBrush projects exported at their highest resolution. What's more, it is possible to retopologize a model with your fingers, without using Apple Pencil. As for right now, the team focuses on iPadOS features, planning better integration with other apps and the Apple ecosystem.
Recently, Pablo has announced the launch of a private beta, so artists themselves can try and test the tool before it is released. The team is also looking for testers to help them ensure the app's compatibility with a wide range of iPad models. You can participate by filling out this form.
