Creating Stylized Leaves in Maya

Romain Durand’s tutorial dedicated to working with foliage.

Romain Durand has showed the way he created stylized leaves for his latest scene. A really nice step-by-step guide to modeling foliage inside Maya.

Thanks for the tutorial. Easy to follow but I feel it needs more explanation. My issue at the moment is after I do the vertex normal step, my tree's shading gets darker and lighter as I move around it. How can I avoid this?

Thanks for your quick reply. Im trying to create a similar tree but no success lol. Even when I apply the normals some of them are being reversed. Would be a hassle for you to get more in detail pls?

Hey, there is no need to attach the leaf to the sphere, the sphere is just here to help you having a great shape for the leaves, I usually place them by hand.

Very well done and thank you. Question: How did you attach the base leaf to the sphere please?
