Despite being one of the oldest shooters, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is presently the most popular game on Steam – over the weekend, the game achieved a new record for concurrent users, with more than 1,519,457 players logged in at the same time, according to SteamDB.
With over 1.5 million concurrent players, CS:GO has now achieved the second-highest concurrent players record on Steam. Although it is still far behind PUBG: Battlegrounds, which holds the top spot with 3.2 million concurrent players, this is still a remarkable achievement for a ten-year-old shooter.
The previous record for CS:GO was 1,308,963 concurrent players, which was achieved during the initial pandemic lockdown. However, the game has now broken its own record, thanks to a new surge in concurrent players.
