On January 4, 2024, CD Projekt Red took to Twitter to announce that the DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, which was released in September, showed some impressive numbers once again. In just over three months since its launch, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has managed to achieve a new milestone as more than 5 million people played it. The team behind the successful title thanked everyone for their support.
"Over 5 million agents have infiltrated Dogtown! Thank you for all your support — and good luck on your mission," wrote CDPR.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has a "very positive" status on Steam, with almost 90% of good reviews. On Metacritic, critics gave the title a score of 89 out of 100, while players granted the game 8.3 points of out 10.
In September, the renowned studio also released a comic book, Ten Swords, which is a free 23-page prequel to the DLC. It sheds light on the events leading up to the Phantom Liberty expansion.
Speaking of CD Projekt Red, recently, Adam Kiciński, the former President of the company and current Chief Strategy Officer, stated that the company is not interested in being acquired.
