All thanks to Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The dream of playing AAA games on phones just as on PC has never left players' minds. And we are closer to the full experience now with Cyberpunk 2077 running on Snapdragon 8 Elite at 60 FPS.
As demonstrated by X/Twitter user LetCook, the game can be pretty smooth at 720p with low settings. However, don't get too excited yet. As many players pointed out, the performance doesn't always seem like 60 FPS, so the consensus is the number was produced by frame generation.
"Frame generation generates entirely new frames by predicting where each pixel in a scene is going to be moving in a given frame, and then using that information to generate what filler frames in between frames the graphics card renders in a traditional way," USA Today's Reviewed defines it.
Pixel Gamer 4k, another X/Twitter user and Android enthusiast, claims that Cyberpunk 2077 was emulated using GameFusion, GameSir's PC games emulator, and while I can't prove or disprove it, if this video is anything to go by, mobile gaming might soon evolve rapidly.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been run on a phone before, using Lenovo Legion Y70 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, LetCooks showcase is much more optimized.
