Saeid Gholizade showed how he built a voxel version of Anor Londo.
Dark Souls' Anor Londo got a new, voxel look in the hands of Saeid Gholizade, the creator of Voxy, a plug-in for Unreal Engine 5. He used the tool to build the cathedral block by block, and while the result may not be as dark as the original structure, it certainly has its own magical charm.
If you want to see the power of Voxy in this project, check out this time-lapse where Gholizade shows that voxel art is not as simple as stacking blocks:
From this video alone, you can guess that this tool is going to be very easy to use despite all the complicated things it can do.
Voxy is a handy upcoming tool to make voxel objects, structures, and entire scenes. It will allow you to put as many voxels as you want on any axis, include runtime features, support a common voxel format, and more.
In the latest update, the developer shared that the plug-in had evolved in many ways, including storing voxel data on disk, generating mesh data, rendering custom instance mesh, and voxel ray casting. He goes into detail about each one, so make sure to check it out.

According to the article above, Voxy now works with both Unreal Engine 5.1 and 5.2, so everyone will be able to enjoy it relatively soon. Gholizade is planning to finish the project by 2024, so stay tuned and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
