Darkest Dungeon II to Get New Content in Mid-August
The update for Darkest Dungeon will add gamepad support, a new boss, and more.
In a new Steam blog post, Red Hook Studios announced that the first post-release content patch for Darkest Dungeon II will be released in mid-August.
The developers shared that the update will add gamepad support and full optimization for Valve's portable PC. With the patch, a new mini-boss called The Collector will also be added to the game making his return. Players may encounter him under certain conditions, as in the first chapter of the series.
The team will also add The Gaunt Chirurgeon. "This character was designed with the help of a Darkest Dungeon II superfan named Sam through the Make-A-Wish Foundation," wrote the team.
The upcoming build will have a host of new Champions, elite enemies who will randomly appear in battle, plus players can expect updates to the Infernal Flame and overall torch system. "The goal here is to build upon the launch system and provide additional flavor, identity, and strategy for players wanting more challenge," noted the team.
Finally, this new release will bring several quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. You can find the full list of updates here.
