Days Gone Director Says the Game Reached 9 Million Sales

Following a recent Ghost of Tsushima sales report, Days Gone director Jeff Ross revealed that Days Gone hit 9 million copies sales.

The former Bend Studio's game director, Jeff Ross, revealed that the game hit around 9 million copies, outselling Ghost of Tsushima that has recently reached 8 million sales. On his Twitter account, Ross noted that when he left Sony, Days Gone reached a milestone of 8 million units on console alone, and over a million copies were subsequently sold on PlayStation and Steam.

Ross also claimed that despite the commercial success of the game, "local studio management" always made them feel that Days Gone was a failure. The game director also added: "Development was a long slog, but we were a small team learning how to make our first open-world game. All things considered, it's amazing we finished at all."

Jeff Ross left Bend Studio in 2020, after launching Days Gone in April 2019. In spite of the huge sales, there are no plans for a sequel yet. Where there is still hope for it, Ross said “never say never,” however, noted that “it won’t happen any time soon”.
