An internal document revealed during the Microsoft vs. FTC hearing suggests that a new DayZ title might be released in the near future.
Bohemia Interactive is reportedly working DayZ 2, a sequel to the studio's Arma 2 mod turned multiplayer-focused sandbox game, according to a new internal document revealed during the ongoing Microsoft vs. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) hearing over its acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
The document, submitted by Xbox as evidence as part of the evidentiary hearing, showed the company's acquisition strategy as of May 2021. In the section dedicated to Bohemia Interactive, additional notes within the document revealed that the studio is indeed working on DayZ 2. Furthermore, the document also disclosed that Bohemia Interactive is concurrently developing Arma 4, a project that has already been confirmed previously with the Early Access release of Arma Reforger.
"While we are expanding our focus regarding the possibilities of the DayZ game, brand, and team itself, we can't offer too many details at the moment," commented Bohemia Interactive (via IGN). "There are numerous projects Bohemia Interactive dev teams are currently exploring/working on, but they will be officially revealed when and only after we feel the time is right."
