Players using aim bots were spotted.
Deadlock hasn't officially launched yet, as Valve announced the game with invite-based access. However, it already has its first cheaters.
A video posted on the Steam subreddit showed some players using auto-aim bots and wall hacks. They could somehow shoot through the wall or the trajectory of a bullet curved around the obstacle to get the enemy who was behind a wall. Players in the comments to the Reddit post wonder why someone would use cheating mechanisms in a public alpha test, in which there are no ranks or leaderboards. The good news is that given the game is still in the testing phase, Valve can develop new anti-cheat mechanisms in the officially released version.
The characters whose gameplay seems unfair are Infernus and Vindicta. The latter has already become one of the most popular characters, as she is one of the most picked characters in the current patch, following Seven and Haze.
Valve
This reminded the fans of Counter-Strike 2 and Team Fortress 2, which also suffer from an influx of cheaters. Recently, Valve introduced a new way to deal with automatic assistance while playing and banned using the input-automation keyboard feature in Counter-Strike 2.
The number of Deadlock's players already hit several records, with almost 90,000 active players on the reveal day and over 106,000 online players a few days later. However, this rush of new players has its reverse side and causes some problems. For instance, its matchmaking system doesn't work as intended yet.
