"Navigate the collapsing rig to save your crew from an otherworldly horror on the edge of all logic and reality."
The Chinese Room, the developer behind Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Dear Esther, and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, announced its return to the narrative horror genre with Still Wakes the Deep – an upcoming game set in 1975.
"You are an off-shore oil rig worker, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. All that remains is to face the unknowable horror that’s come aboard."
You will need to look for your crew and help them survive. Traverse through the flooding corridors and storm-lashed outer decks, face a terrifying foe, and pray to see your family again. You won't have any weapons or powers, so your survival is only up to your mind.
The Chinese Room promises "a symphony of action, trepidation, tender emotions, and awe."
Still Wakes the Deep is set to release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in early 2024.
