Death Stranding Hits 10 Million Players

The number of the game's players crossed 10 million people across PS4, PS5, and PC.

Kojima Productions has revealed that the number of Death Stranding players has surpassed 10 million people. The news coincided with the third anniversary of the action game.

The 10 million figure includes people who played Death Stranding on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC including those who accessed it through Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

In case you missed it, Death Stranding is an action game set in the United States following a cataclysmic event that caused destructive creatures to start roaming the Earth. In the game, players take on the role of Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus, a courier who is tasked with delivering supplies to isolated colonies and reconnecting them through a wireless communications network.

Death Stranding is the first game by director Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions released after the studio's split from Konami in 2015. It first launched in November 2019 as a PS4 exclusive but in July 2020 it was also released for PC.

In September 2021, Kojima Productions released Death Stranding Director's Cut which was released for PlayStation 5 with this version of the game bringing visual improvements, new features, weapons, and extended storylines. In March 2022, Director's Cut became available for PC as well.
