Destiny 2 Reaches New Concurrent Player Peak After Lightfall Release

Lightfall, a new expansion for Destiny 2, was released on February 28 and managed to attract so many players that it hit a new player count record on Steam.

The shooter saw 316,750 concurrent players when Lightfall launched, beating its previous maximum count of 292,513 recorded in 2019, soon after the Destiny 2 release.

Destiny 2: Lightfall opens a new campaign in a Neptunian city, a Strand subclass, and a chance to fight against the Shadow Legion "and prevent devastation in the technologically advanced secret city of Neomuna".
