The upcoming show will be made by Capcom and DOTA: Dragon's Blood's Studio Mir.
If you are a fan of anime and the Devil May Cry universe and always wanted your two passions to intertwine, yet the 2007 version from Madhouse left you with nothing but the bitter taste of disappointment, then we've got some good news for you. Netflix, during its recent Drop 01 animation event, unveiled an official announcement trailer, revealing an upcoming anime series set in the DMC universe, being created in collaboration with Capcom.
While the show's existence is confirmed, Netflix has kept most of the details under wraps. The information shared by the team is sparse, but what we do know is that Studio Mir, a South Korean animation studio known for their work on The Legend of Korra and DOTA: Dragon's Blood, is responsible for the animation. Leading the project as the showrunner is Adi Shankar, an experienced producer who contributed to Netflix's Castlevania and The Guardians of Justice.

Regrettably, the announcement trailer also didn't provide much insight, offering only a small look at the anime's central character, Dante himself, and teasing that the show is "coming soon". Interestingly, it appears the creators have chosen to "rethink" Dante's iconic design yet again, giving the character a weird Kaneki Ken-style haircut that sets him apart from DMC 5's Dante, the one from Ninja Theory's 2013 Devil May Cry, or any other game iteration.

"I'm honored that Netflix and Capcom have entrusted me to shepherd the Devil May Cry franchise," commented Shankar on the announcement (via The Verge). "[Writer] Alex Larsen and I love these characters, we are part of the fandom, and vow to surpass the exceptionally high bar we set for ourselves."

In other anime news, the creators of the Spy x Family anime recently shared a gorgeous new trailer for the second season of the show, revealing that it will begin airing in less than two weeks, starting on October 7, 2023.
Earlier, Ghibli's Vice President also revealed that The Boy and the Heron will most likely not be Hayao Miyazaki's final work as the legendary director continues exploring new ideas and visiting the studio quite regularly.
