DON'T NOD saw an 11% decline in revenue and reduced the value of these titles.
DON'T NOD
DON'T NOD, the studio best known for Life Is Strange, Remember Me, and Vampyr, shared that its recently released titles Jusant and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden didn't meet its expectations in terms of commercial success.
Evaluating the studio's financial activity over the first half of 2024, Chairman and CEO Oskar Guilbert said that the company was disappointed by its performance in a competitive and selective market. "Despite an excellent critical reception, Jusant and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden unfortunately did not achieve the commercial results we had hoped for, resulting in a deterioration in our 2024 half-year results and leading us to consider all possible options regarding our roadmap," the executive shared.
DON'T NOD
DON'T NOD saw an 11% decline in operating revenues to €14.6 million in the first half of 2024 compared to €16.5 million in the same period of 2023. The studio admitted that Jusant and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden "performed well below expectations." On the contrary, the company's other titles, Life is Strange and Vampyr, brought an increase in sales by €1.2 million.
As a result, the developer decided to take some financial actions. One of the measures was to reduce the value of Jusant and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden by €24 million. Also, the studio halted two unannounced projects that were in the design phase so as to prioritize its resources and maximize the chances of their success.
