Ryan Kingslien, founder of Vertex School and former product manager for ZBrush, has shared his very personal project: a stunning real-size sculpture of his son, created in a mix of digital and physical techniques.
The "digital-to-eternal" sculpture, called Fighter, was first shaped in ZBrush and then turned into a marble model without any photogrammetry scans. You can see Kingslien polishing the stone in the video above.
While its face hasn't been revealed yet, the statue already looks realistic and detailed from behind, and I'm sure ZBrush ensured the front fits a high-quality standard.
