Direct Environment Modeling in Unreal Engine

The Unreal team presented a crazy new experimental feature.

Unreal Engine 4.25 is just around the corner, and the Unreal team invited a few of Epic's engineering directors for a webinar to discuss new features and updates coming to the latest version. The team discussed major updates to Niagara, general animation improvements, experimental Insights, native LiDAR Point Cloud support, and more.

One feature though made us too much excited. Using a game engine as a toolkit for all environment modeling and sculpting might sound crazy but we're getting closer to that point thanks to the Unreal team. The team presented an experimental toolkit (28:12) that allows users to do all the modeling inside the engine in real-time without the need to jump to externals DCCs. It's still a very early version, of course, but think about the possibilities.

Discuss the feature in the comments below.
