Raphaël Colantonio, co-founder of Arkane Studios and co-creator of Dishonored, recently spoke about the possibility of Dishonored 3, expressing his interest in returning to work on the sequels of his games.
In a recent episode of the Quad Damage podcast (via RPS), Colantonio said: "I'd love to – I mean, we're talking totally hypothetically at this point – I could see myself working on Dishonored 3 right now because it's been so long that, you know, why not?" While Dishonored 3 seems unlikely, the developer recalled the thoughts before creating the sequel: "After Dishonored 1, the last thing I wanted to do for the next four years of my life was Dishonored 2. In general, I like creating new things."
Colantonio shared that he, another game's creator Harvey Smith, and Arkane's current lead, Dinga Bakaba, have all written down their concepts for a possible follow-up. However, the developer noted that there's little point in discussing which version might be used, as some of the team is no longer at Arkane and other projects are already underway: "Which of those three versions will ever see the day, now we're talking about science fiction at this point. So many of the people [that worked on the series] are scattered around, and Harvey is not at Arkane anymore. I'm not at Arkane, and Dinga is working on Blade."
Currently, Raphaël Colantonio's WolfEye Studios is working on a first-person sci-fi action RPG, which, according to the developer, will be to the taste of Dishonored and Prey fans.
