Dragon Age 4 Is Dreadwolf No More

Insiders say BioWare will present the game at Xbox Showcase under a different name.

We are very close to finally getting some information on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf: BioWare is expected to appear at the Xbox Showcase on June 9. However, will it be the same Dragon Age we know or something different?

Insider Jeff Grubb teased fans during his Kinda Funny Games podcast by saying "Dragon Age Dreadwolf probably won't be there. Dragon Age will be there."

Fans were confused and assumed a new game was in the making, but journalist Jason Schreier revealed that BioWare simply changed the name of Dragon Age 4. Unfortunately, neither of the insiders said what the new name is, so we can only guess, both the title and the reason behind the change.

BioWare

Solas, who will be the center of the story, is known as the Dread Wolf – a nickname that has never been spelled as one word. Perhaps BioWare hastily announced the new game's title to avoid confusion; the animated series Dragon Age: Absolution was released the same year we learned the name. So Dreadwolf was probably a codename all along (how much are you willing to bet they just didn't want it to be known as DAD?)

What we know so far is that BioWare is happy with non-Dreadwolf's progress, according to Grubb: "They're pretty pleased with how it turned out, and the plan is to launch that this calendar year." This is nice to hear considering how many people have left the original team.
