UnPLUG Tools has recently released Draw Groom Guides, a new plugin that makes creating hair guides in Maya art-directable and procedural.
The tool gives the ability to create groom guides directly on hair-fur volume meshes and procedurally align them within the volume bounds. The developer promises that you can generate complex groom guides within a few minutes.
Once created, you can use hair guides with Maya’s XGen or other hair plugins like Yeti or Ornatrix.
