Dream-Horror Adventure Decarnation Got Release Date & New Trailer
The game is inspired by David Lynch's and Satoshi Kon's movies.
Decarnation, a "dream-horror adventure" inspired by retro games and cult movies from Satoshi Kon and David Lynch, got a release date along with a new trailer. The story-driven game will be out on May 31 for PC and Switch, complete with several tracks from Silent Hill's composer Akira Yamaoka.
"Explore a haunting world, both real and metaphorical, and find the keys needed to battle inner and outer monsters. Get caught up in an intensely emotional story unfolding in a malignant, elaborate setting. Experience diverse gameplay featuring twisted puzzles, threatening creatures, Lovecraftian environments, and metaphorical minigames."
The story takes place in 1990 and features Gloria, a cabaret dancer suffering from issues in every aspect of her life. She takes on an artistic endeavor sponsored by a mysterious benefactor, but who are they and what is their motive?
According to the developer Atelier QDB, Decarnation explores the contrast between limitations in the physical realm and the subconscious landscapes one can't escape.
It is a promising, chilling experience that should keep you on your toes.
