The company shared its financial results for the fiscal year 2022 revealing that its net bookings reached a record-high $7.5 billion. Most of its sales were represented by the live service segment.

Electronic Arts has revealed its financial results for the fourth quarter and the full fiscal year 2022. According to the report, the company's net bookings saw a 21% year-on-year increase over the year reaching a record $7.5 billion. EA's live service segment grew by 17% and accounted for 71% of total net bookings.
The company also shared that its player network increased by 16% compared to the previous year and reached 580 million accounts with EA Sports FIFA having over 150 million accounts.
The report reads that EA showed the best fourth quarter in sales history. The net bookings in Q4 grew by 18% compared to the same period in the previous year and reached $1.75 billion. Nearly 85% of total net bookings were represented by live services and microtransactions which grew by 14% reaching $1.5 billion.
Apex Legends
Sales of full games in the fourth quarter increased by 43% reaching $267 million. The company attributes the growth of this segment to sales of FIFA. It also notes that 65% of games were sold in a digital form for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. In comparison, in the previous year, digital sales amounted to 62% of total unit sales.
Speaking of games, EA shared that Apex Legends continues to grow, with its net bookings increasing more than 40% over the past year. It also revealed that it's going to release a new Need for Speed at the end of 2022, and in the spring of 2023 the company plans to release four undisclosed titles which it describes as a "major IP", "partner title", "remake", and "sports title". The "remake" will likely be Dead Space, while "major IP" could probably refer to Star Wars Jedi.
