The company shared an FAQ about the upcoming acquisition deal, which also addresses potential layoffs.

Electronic Arts assures its employees concerned about potential layoffs that no "immediate" changes to their work will be made as a result of the company's acquisition.

The company outlined an employee FAQ in the US Securities and Exchange Commission filing, brought to the audience's attention by Stephen Totilo. The document, dated September 29, covers the reasons for the deal, its implications, and estimated terms.

Before, the company's workers shared their concerns regarding the potential job cuts that might follow the deal and said, "layoffs usually follow those type of acquisitions." One of the headers in the recently released document reads, "Will private ownership lead to layoffs?" As a response, EA states: "There will be no immediate changes to your job, team, or daily work, as a result of this transaction. Our focus is on driving innovation, and expanding our global reach, all of which require world class teams, who are excited to shape the future of entertainment." At the same time, by saying that there will be no "immediate" changes, the statement provides short-term reassurance but leaves open the possibility of adjustments in the future.

Electronic Arts will be acquired by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners. Following the earlier coverage, it was confirmed on Monday. According to a recent report, referring to the information first shared by the Financial Times, EA's new owners will count on AI to reduce the company's costs.
